Bishop leads procession through East London

The Bishop of London led a procession from St Anne’s Limehouse, through Limehouse Basin, to the Royal Foundation of St Katharine prior to the installation of the Venerable Roger Preece as the new Master.

She was accompanied by the Revd John Tattersall, Chair of the Court of the Foundation, as well as members of the choir of the Old Royal Naval College Greenwich.

The Venerable Roger Preece said:

“I was delighted that we could have the first part of the installation service at St Anne’s as it symbolises the link to all our local churches. The procession through the old docks reminds us of the history of the Foundation when the original 12th century buildings were destroyed to create St Katharine’s Docks in 1825.”
