Bishop Sarah attends mental health conference at Lambeth Palace

The Bishop of London has joined faith and community leaders at a conference at Lambeth Palace to raise awareness of mental health.

The conference, Faith and Mental Health: a Christian Response, sought to raise the profile of mental illness and ensure the Church of England responded well to challenges.

Bishop Sarah spoke alongside Dr Jacqui Dyer MBE, President of the Mental Health Foundation, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, who appeared on Radio 4’s Thought for the Day before the conference to urge others who are “walking in darkness” to reach out for help.  Archbishop Justin also wrote a piece in The Guardian, which can be read here.

Sarah Wollaston, the Liberal Democrat MP who was a GP for 24 years before standing for parliament, also attended, as did HRH The Duke of Sussex.
