The Bishop in St Paul'sWhen I made my debut at St Paul’s after being appointed Bishop of London, my theme was the new communications environment and the desirability of being an online bishop. Now, more than 11 years later, I have finally entered the blogosphere – well, better late than never.

I am hoping to update the blog about twice a week depending on events. There are other places where the work of the Church in London is described and there is the official website of the Church of England, and I do not want to duplicate the material that appears on them.

My intention is more personal. The world wide web has opened up new possibilities for global conversations. We are at the beginning of discovering what is involved in being a global citizen. How do we learn to listen and speak in ways that are mutually enriching without leading to some new Babel?

I am looking forward to your responses, assisted by a couple of friendly moderators to make sure that all comments are read.
