London Citizens’ Mayoral Accountability Assembly

London Citizens’ Mayoral Accountability Assembly

The Bishop of London officially welcomed over 6,000 people from across the Capital at the Copper Box Arena, for the London Citizens’ Mayoral Accountability Assembly, one week ahead the London Mayoral elections. The event officially marked the launch of London Citizens’ 2016 Housing Manifesto.

The event, organised by London Citizens,  saw the Conservative London Mayoral Candidate, Zac Goldsmith and the Labour London Mayoral Candidate Sadiq Khan called upon to respond to London Citizens’ specific asks from their Housing Manifesto on the London Living Wage; Jobs and Employment Opportunities for Young People; London’s response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis alongside 4 concrete proposals on housing.

The Housing Manifesto was created by members of London Citizens through a unique democratic listening process which commenced in July 2015. This involved conversations with tens of thousands of people, over 220 faith institutions, workplaces, community associations and educational establishments from across the Capital.
