A leading Swiss clergyman, the Rt Reverend Dr Gottfried Locher, was recently appointed an Honorary Canon at St Paul’s Cathedral in an Evensong service.

The President of the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (FSPC), Dr Locher, leads the organisation that represents 26 member churches and their two and half million congregation before the Swiss Government and on the international stage.

Dr Locher was ordained in 1993 and previously served as minister of the Swiss Church in London. Whilst in London, he gained his PHD and also an MBA.

From 2006-10 he directed the Institute for Ecumenical Studies at the University of Fribourg and in 2010 was elected President of the FSPC, having previously served as their Director of External Relations.
