Bishop of London joins Bishop of Lebombo to mark historic signing of Mozambique’s peace accord
The Bishop of London, the Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, joined the Bishop of Lebombo and the UK High Commissioner to Mozambique this afternoon to mark the historic signing of a peace accord, which hopes to offer a lasting solution to the country’s conflict.
At the British High Commission Maputo, Bishop Sarah offered her prayers for the people of Mozambique and welcomed the new accord, which encompasses a permanent end to hostilities, constitutional changes and the disarming and reintegration of Renamo fighters into the security forces or civilian life.
The partnership between the Diocese of London and Anglican Church in Angola and Mozambique is supported through the Angola London Mozambique Association (ALMA), part of the network of Companion Link Dioceses throughout the Anglican Communion.
