Good Friday marked in Trafalgar Square
The Bishop has joined over 20,000 Londoners in Trafalgar Square on Good Friday for the Wintershall Charitable Trust’s annual re-enactment of the Passion of Jesus. The free performances featured a cast of more than 100 as well as horses, doves and donkeys, in a realistic and moving depiction of Jesus’s last days. Afterwards, the Bishop led attendees in prayer.
The Wintershall Charitable Trust was established to bring the story of the Bible to life through epic dramatic open air plays. Returning for the seventh year, the show has become a permanent fixture on London’s Easter weekend events calendar and attracts tens of thousands of spectators, encompassing all faiths.
