New Chancellor and Precentor join Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral
The Bishop of London and the Chapter have appointed Dr Paula Gooder as Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral. Speaking of the appointment, Bishop Sarah said:
“I am thrilled that Paula will be joining us at St Paul’s Cathedral. Her gifts in writing, lecturing and theology are well known throughout the Church, and that knowledge and experience will play an integral role in helping the Cathedral further develop its mission and outreach across London and beyond. This is a hugely significant appointment and I believe that St Paul’s Chapter will become a model for lay and ordained leaders working creatively together for the kingdom of God.”
The Reverend James Milne will also join the Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral as Residentiary Canon and Precentor, with his appointment recently approved by Her Majesty The Queen and confirmed by No. 10 Downing Street. Speaking of James’ appointment Bishop Sarah said:
“James is a deeply spiritual man and has already made a valuable contribution to the life of our Cathedral. His instinctive creativity has been particularly visible in making liturgy and services even more accessible to a growing range of visitors to St Paul’s. I feel sure that his ministry and skills will now provide a great addition to the Chapter and the wider Cathedral life.”
