Trollope Bicentenary
The Bishop joined His Royal Highness, The Duke of Kent, at a wreathlaying at Westminster Abbey to commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of Anthony Trollope, one of the most successful, prolific and respected novelists of the Victorian era.
The service was conducted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall. The Bishop, who is President of the Trollope Society, gave the Address and Joanna Trollope OBE and Michael Williamson DL, Chairman of the Trollope Society, gave readings.
The event was followed by a celebratory dinner at the House of Lords and is part of a series of events that have been held by the Society throughout 2015 to raise the profile of Anthony Trollope in his bicentenial year.
