New Vicar for Annunciation, Marble Arch

The Bishop has joined the Associate Archdeacon of London, the Venerable Rosemary Lain-Priestley, and the community and congregation at the parish church of the Annunciation, Marble Arch, to install Father Gerald Beauchamp as Vicar.

Fr Gerald has been Priest-in-Charge of Annunciation since November 2010 and has led a strong growth in the church, including the success of the Sunday School, where around 100 children attend every Sunday in term time.

Fr Gerald grew up in South London and was ordained priest in 1981. He holds degrees from Hull University and the University of London and was trained at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield in Yorkshire.  Fr Gerald remains Priest-in-Charge of nearby St Cyprian’s, Clarence Gate, where Fr Michael Fuller will be joining to assist.

The Annunciation is a dramatic building in a fascinating and fast changing part of London. The parish has always had fine liturgical and musical tradition and there is now a children’s choir. In recent years the parish has strengthened its links with the Chaplaincy Among Deaf & Deaf Blind People as well as developing the relationship with the hotels that surround the church

Fr Gerald Beauchamp, new Vicar of Annunciation Marble Arch, said: “On Sundays the Annunciation is a hive of activity. During the week it is a haven of peace. It is a privilege to be the vicar of such a parish. ”
